What is a dynamic label
The dynamic label is a graphic resource that contains information or symbols about the product or item, which can be replaced dynamically, with different information from the model such as: model name, size name, fabric name , etc.
Is called dynamic because some text information from the label are replaced in real time when doing different actions in the model, like changing the base size or renaming the piece.
For example: if a text from the label will be replaced with the Size name from the model, when moving from a size to another, in the dynamic label will be displayed in real time the name of the selected size.
What is the purpose of using the dynamic label on the product?
The main purpose is in helping the operators, after the manufacturing process of digital printing and cutting, to be able to clearly identify and collect the parts of the product in function of the: size name, fabric name, piece name, etc.
How and where is possible to create labels which you can set as dynamic in Pattern Designer?
The labels can be created in graphic applications like: CorelDraw, Illustrator but can be created also in Word or some other programs which are able to generate PDF files.
Condition that have to be fulfilled when creating a label in the specified applications:
When creating a label in the graphic applications the main condition, in order to be able to use it as dynamic label in the PDX application, is that some of the information to be created as text.
Is necessary to have this propriety so that, when importing the label in PDX, to be able to replace the texts from the label with some other information from the model.
Types of labels:
In function of how many information are displayed in the label there are two types of labels:
and
The simple labels are containing only a couple of information like size name, unique code from Gemini Cloud, fabric name, piece name, etc.
The complex labels are containing more than one information such as: the brand logo, unique code from Gemini Cloud , information about the maintenance of the product, size name, etc.
The simple and complex labels will be placed on the seam allowance, but because of their dimension, which can fit or not inside of the seam allowance, there can be two positioning modes:
- Completely inside of the seam allowance, placement specific to the simple label type
- A part of the label on the seam allowance and a part of the label outside of the seam allowance, placement specific to the complex label type.
How to create simple and complex labels in graphic applications:
The background color of simple and complex labels has to be in contrast with the text color, so that the text can be readable after printing.
Here are some construction examples of simple and complex labels:
