Note! This function requires an Advanced pleats license. In the version without Advanced pleats license, you can apply the function to create pleats, to edit values and to save the pleats in the library. The Validate/ OK button is disabled, so the created pleats cannot be applied to the model. When opening a model that contains complex pleats, a pop-up will appear with the following message: “You do not have license for Advanced Pleats. If you open the model, all complex pleats will be deleted”.
The pleat creation is done in a dedicated window, that can be displayed by completing the following steps:
Select the first point;
Select the second point;
Select the third point;
Select the fourth point.
Once the above steps were completed with a valid selection, the Edit pleat window is displayed.
The window is split into three areas:
Pleat preview (A) – displays in a 3D format the pleat defined in the Pleat definition table (B). For a clear preview, we added the following buttons:
Pleat definition table (B) – is the area where the custom pleat is completed, step by step.
The pleat customization can be done from the table by changing the following default properties:
No. – displays the pleat number.
1-3 dist. and 2-4 dist. – are the pleat distances in the direction given by the points 1-3 and 2-4.
Direction – is the folding direction of each row of the pleat.
1-3 notch, 2-4 notch, 1-3 notch length and 1-3 notch length – are the notch options that can be applied individually for each row of the pleat.
These options are enabled for editing only if the Show/Hide info button is clicked on.
Clipboard and Library (C) – contains options that can be used to populate the Pleat definitiontable.
Library – contains a list of predefined pleats. When a pleat from the library is selected, on the left side are displayed the pleat properties. The actions that can be performed using the pleat library are:
Save to library – creates, from the current selection, a new pleat that will be added in the library.
Delete the selected pleat from the library, by pressing the Delete button.
Insert – add the selected pleat from the library to the current Pleat definition table.
Insert and resize – add and resize the selected pleat from the Library in the current Pleat definition table.
