Change section length

It is possible to adjust the length of a curve section to new dimensions and to a new shape.
Click on Change section length, select the reference section, as well as the direction for applying the new properties. In the Edit section area, select the options for modifying the selected section.
If you select a section, and, then, you click on Change section length, the area for selecting the selected section changing options is automatically displayed.
By clicking on the Validate button, the section length is modified according to the values entered, and the shape is too, according to the chosen method.

Parameters:

Offset – if you enter a value and then click on Enter,the value from the Length field changes, as it adds up to the one in the above-mentioned field;
Length – the value displayed accounts for the selected section length.
Given the large number of possibilities for modifying the shape of a section, next to entering the above-mentioned parameters, it is also necessary to opt for a shape editing method. Thus, the options are:
- fixing the two end points of the reference section and resizing the latter;
- moving one of the end points horizontally, vertically, diagonally or along the direction of the reference point tangent;
- moving both reference points horizontally, vertically, diagonally or along the direction of the reference point tangents.

In order to change a section, so as to get to a certain length, you need to maintain proportions, or change the section along the direction.
