By using the Measure perimeter function, you can perform measurements on pieces’ contours. With this function, you can only select points from the piece contour. This function is a step function, and it has two steps: The elements that can be selected during the measurements are: main points or notches. When the element selected for the measurement is a notch, it is marked differently in the working space, to highlight the measurement’s end elements, which is useful when the latter have main points created at the bottom. After applying the two steps, the result will be a measurement, performed on the selected piece contour, between the two indicated points. By default, the measurement is performed clockwise, but you can opt for changing the measurement direction by clicking on the bidirectional pointing arrow button.
Just like in the case of direct measurements, you can opt for showing the delta or the offset between the consecutive sizes. In the case of a dart on the contour, where the measurement is done, you can opt for measuring the dart perimeter as well, or for skipping the opening of the dart.
