The grain axis sets the direction and the piece’s placing orientation in the marker, depending on the type of fabric. To create a grain axis on a piece, access the Garment working mode, select the piece and, then, click on the Create grain axis button. Click on the piece again, in the point where the grain axis starts, and, then, in the point where it ends. A single grain axis can be created on a pattern.
When the axis has been created as described above, its angle, length and position can be set accurately, using precise coordinates. To validate the new coordinates, press Enter. To constrain the grain axis angle, select the piece and the grain axis, then select the grain axis peak, and press Ctrl. When Ctrl is pressed, the grain axis rotates, each time, by 15 degrees relative to the coordinates system in the working space.
